The budget airline easyJet has announced that it is pulling out of one Paris airport, ending its flights at the close of the summer 2024 season.

A spokesman for easyJet’s French management told media: “At the end of the 2024 summer season, easyJet will no longer operate flights to and from Paris-Beauvais.
“We are concentrating our efforts on maintaining and developing the routes that are most popular with our passengers. We will continue to serve 22 airports in France.”
EastJet will maintain a presence at Paris’ two main airports, Roissy-Charles de Gaulle and Orly. Although Beauvais airport calls itself ‘Paris-Beauvais’ it is actually more than 70km out of the city, involving a drive of at least an hour to connect to Paris itself.

The news comes after easyJet announced it is closing its ‘base’ at Toulouse airport – although in that case the company said this will have no effect on flights and the company will continue to run the same routes to and from Toulouse.
Unions representing the airline’s French staff have filed a strike notice, saying that the Toulouse closure was announced without consultation.
EasyJet has been at Paris-Beauvais since 2022 but offered just three routes – a domestic flight to Nice and international connections to Milan and Lisbon.
Interview: Bordeaux airport ‘will recover from the loss of Ryanair’
Speaking to Air Journal, an easyJet spokesman added: “Like all airlines, easyJet is constantly evaluating development opportunities.
“In this context, easyJet has opened three routes to Beauvais in 2022 to explore new catchment areas. The airline now wants to focus on high-demand routes and offers nearly 80 routes from its Paris bases at Paris Orly and Paris CDG.
“EasyJet continues to be the second largest airline in France and to expand in the regions, with 22 airports served and more than 20 new routes opened this year, including services to Egypt for the first time in the airline’s history in France.”
